🔥 30-Day Financial Reset Challenge

Week 1 Ready. Set. Go!!

Are you ready to take control of your finances in just 30 days? Whether you’re getting out of debt, building savings, or learning how to manage your money with purpose — this challenge is for you. Every day, you’ll get a simple, actionable task that moves you one step closer to your financial goals

Day 1: Set your financial intention

Write down your financial intention. It is a basic goal you wish to achieve over the next 30 day, it doesn’t need to be too detailed. E.g. : Get a better understanding of my finances. 

Day 2: List all sources of income

This can be done on paper or on your phone however we recommend a spreadsheet as it will make later parts easier.

Day 3: List all debts

list any debts you have including the lenders name, the amount owed, the loan term (length of the loan), the monthly repayment and the interest rate.

Day 4: List all expenses

Time to list your monthly expenses including groceries, Take out, Rent, Subscriptions, Hobbies and anything else you spend money on every month.

Bonus: list utilities and yearly expenses like registration and insurance.

Day 5: Calculate your net worth

Add up the resale value or all your assets (House, Car, Home contents, investments, savings) and subtract the value of all your debts. The remaining number is your Net Worth.

Day 6: Identify a short-term financial goal

Write down a short term financial goal that you can achieve by the end of the month. Be sure to include where you currently are in terms of that goal and where you would like to be by the end of the month.

Day 7: Reflect on this week

Congratulations on making it through the first week!  Now it’s time to reflect on that week. Write down what went well, What you struggled with and what Surprised you.

Week 2 - Get organised

Day 8: Create or review your budget

Using your expenses adjust the categories you can control like eating out, hobbies etc to make sure your expenses are less than your income, Make sure to leave room for savings and unpredictable expenses.

Day 9: Track last week’s spending

Write down where and how much you spent last week. down to the last dollar. this can be done by opening your online banking and looking at your transactions. Bonus if you can categorise each item to match your budget.

Day 10: Identify one subscription you can cancel

Take a scroll through last months transactions to find all the subscriptions taking money from you, if there are any that you don’t use Cancel them, you can always get them back later if they have something you want. Also look up subscription hopping.

Day 11: Set a Monthly “money date”

This can be with a partner or by yourself, set a day and time to sit down and go through your finances every month. Reflect on how you went last month and your plans for the next month.

Day 12: Declutter and sell one unused item

Every one needs a bit of a cleaning day every now and then so have a look at all your unused items, including clothing, furniture, old hobbies or things just sitting in the cupboard collecting dust. Sell or donate at least one thing.

Day 13: Set up an emergency fund

Set up an Account with no debit card attached and decide on a value of roughly 3-6 months of expenses. Transfer at least $10 into that account to get the ball rolling.

Day 14: Celebrate your progress

Well done, you are half way through and you are doing great so far. Its important to celebrate your achievements. so take today to relax a little and treat yourself, bonus points if you can do it without spending any money.

Week 3: Get Disciplined

Day 15: Try a no-spend day

Try make it through a whole day without spending any money. You may need to prepare a bit more beforehand, pack lunch for the day etc.

Day 16: Prep meals to save money

prepare some easy meals to eat later, whether it be your lunches for the week or dinners you can reheat. Anything that will help you avoid spending money eating out.

Day 17: Automate your savings

Set up an automatic transfer to your savings and emergency fund that occurs every payday

Day 18: Review your credit report

Your credit score can be a major factor in determining whether you qualify for a loan or any type of finance in the future so check your score.

Day 19: Learn something new about money

Listen to a podcast, Read a finance book or Check out the Resource tab and read our latest money blog.

Day 20: Create a debt payoff plan

Using an online debt repayment calculator find out how long it will take you to pay off your debt. Or if you don’t have debt create an emergency fund building plan.

Day 21: Share a win with a friend or online

Share your progress with a friend or online and see if they want to take the challenge too.

Week 4: Get Ahead

Day 22: Explore ways to earn extra income

Look up some ways to earn some extra income e.g. being a delivery driver in your spare time, building a side hustle or side business. Or selling your unwanted items online.

Day 23: Visualize your debt-free or wealthy future

Write down what your life will look like when you are debt free or wealthy. How will it be different to it is now?

Day 24: Save your spare change or round-ups

There are many apps and some banks that provide a rounding feature to save or invest spare change explore your options. additionally you can save your spare change in a tin at home

Day 25: Practice gratitude for what you have

Write down 5 things in your life and why you are grateful to have them, this can include people

Day 26: Choose a money book to read

Look online or check your local library and find a book related to finance to start reading, some books have free audio versions available on YouTube.

Day 27: Review your goals and progress

Look back on the goals you wrote down for day 6 and write down how you feel about your progress.

Day 28: Adjust your plan for next month

Write down what you would change about this financial challenge so that next month you can do even better!

FINAL DAYS

Almost there. Keep Going.

Day 29: Write a letter to your future self

Write a letter to your future self in the calendar app on your phone or computer about where you are now and where you hope to be when you get the reminder. You choose when you should read it.

Day 30: Celebrate! You did it 🎉
